"Behind the Lens" with Paul Nicklen

This will be the first in a short mini series called "Behind the Lens with..."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

National Geographic wildlife photographer, Paul Nicklen, has more awards and recognition for his incredible work to even bother to mention the titles. We will just say there are a ton. He has been in some incredible positions to take truly stunning work. Like this one....

If you are wondering how he did not get eaten, the trick was pulled with something called a "camera trap".

Well here is a set of incredible shots he took of a mammoth leopard seal - that could have also eaten him - alongside some shots of him in action, and then a short video of him explaining what it was like.

Come along as we go - "Behind the Lens" with Paul Nicklen...

I heard your story on Radio Lab. The story of your leopard seal is just, breathtaking. I am so appreciative that you shared it with such a wonderful "audible appealing" podcast. They made your adventure come to life. At one point I was on the edge of my seat.I listened to your segment and look looked at the shots of her...I almost cried. :) You have that connection, that moment shared with such a creature, that will carry with you forever. How very fortunate you are.
