Apurture Creates Better Solution For Follow Focusing

Follow focusing is something we do in when making a movie to have precise control over what is in focus as we are filming. A difficult process that takes practice and control because our subject, and quite often the camera, are in motion. But if you want to do some film work with a DSLR, that is what you have to do. Here is a picture of a follow focus device so you understand what I mean.

As you can see from the picture, you turn the nob that is geared in place to your focus ring on your lens.

Well the company Apurture, has released teasers that suggest something better may be coming. It is a device that plugs into the USB port on the side of your camera. Not only will it allow for focusing in live view, but it promises aperture control and ISO adjustment as well. This would make a total exposure control solution.

Soon to be released, we hold our judgement until it actually hits the market. But it sure looks promising.
