Are you a landscape photographer? Then you are going to eventually have to buckle down and buy some filters. The kind that slide down in place in front of the lens to darken the sky or turn it a color. Like a deep rust, or dark blue.
But to get a good Cokin P Series starter kit will run you, well, a lot...
Here is a better solution. This deal found on Amazon, is put out by a company called Goja. They are far far cheaper, but still well made and get great reviews. I had a chance to try some of these out from a friend and found myself blown away by the quality at the price. Their starter kit - which works with all Cokin P Series as well, is $75. For the same price as 2 Cokin P Series filters, you get everything listed below.
- Double slotted filter holder
- Adapter rings for 52, 55, 58, 62, 67, 72, and 77mm lens mounts!
- Lens hood for protection
- 9 Graduated colored filters. (Green, Coffee, Yellow, Purple, Orange, Grey, Blue, Pink, and Red)
- 3 Graduated Neutral Density Filters. ( #2, #4, and #8 ND filter)
- 3 Full Neutral Density Filters. (#2, #4, and #8 ND Filter)
After using his set up, I pulled out my iPhone and ordered my own set. This is a great deal that I felt was too good to pass up.
