A Photo That Will Make Your Heart Melt

The below photo was captured by photographer Hannah Stonehouse Hudson and has pretty much went viral since she posted it on Facebook. It depicts dog owner John Unger cradling his trusted friend Schoep. Pronounced Shep.

Schoep is an adopted dog that he has owned for about 20 years. The bond of friendship that developed goes deep and John credits his best friend for pulling him out of a depression that almost caused him to end his own life.

What see in the photo below, is a loving owner caring for an aging friend. Shoep has an arthritis condition that causes the poor pup a lot of pain. So much, that the animal has trouble sleeping. So John takes him to Lake Superior. The dog is able to relax in the cool waters and reportedly almost instantly falls asleep in his arms.
