Perseid Meteor Shower This Week

Courtesy Jared Tennant and Wiki Commons
On August the 11th and 12th, the Perseid meteor shower is scheduled to peak out. So if you want to try and grab a few shots, now would be the time. This is timed perfectly with a late moon rise after midnight. So if you get away from light pollution sources, you should be able to find some good shots before your personal bed time.

The Perseids happen like clock work this time every year, and date back to the first documented occurrence abut 2000 years ago.

A google search of images for this, yields tons of examples photos.
