Shrink Wrapped Love Pics

I was passed this story by Ashley Lowder. The subject line said, "This is weird." After seeing the pics, I totally agree.

Photographer Haruhiko Kawaguchi has a project he has been working on called Flesh Love. A parody on the term Fresh Love. He takes couples and arranges them in intricate poses symbolizing love and affection. He does this in gigantic clear plastic bags. He then sucks all the air out of the bags and shrink wraps them.

Now the obvious question you have is, what do they do to breath. The answer is, they don't. The whole process takes 20 to 30 seconds to suck the air out, snap the pose, and then spring them free. He reports that for the most part, the women are calm. It is the guys that have been known to panic a bit, and on more than one occasion, even wet themselves

All of this takes place on the kitchen floor of the photographer's girlfriend's apartment. Proving that you can make art anywhere. Although some will claim that this is not art. It's just weird. I will let you be the judge on that.

Below, you will find photo examples of his work, and a behind the scenes video showing you how it is done.
