Unclaimed Camera Causes F-15's To Scramble

So an unclaimed camera on an airplane caused the crew to wig out, divert the plane for an emergency landing, delayed all the passengers for hours, and caused fighter jets to scramble in case the plane needed to be shot down.

Really? Was all of that necessary? Well when the camera is discovered inside and air sick bag (very suspicious place for a camera to be, don't you think?), and no one on the plane will claim it, then apparently so.
