Woman Drowns Getting Wedding Pictures Done

In this very sad story, a Quebec woman was drowned while taking some after wedding photos. She had just been married June 9 but wanted more pictures of herself down by the river. So she, her photographer, and an assistant headed down to the river just north of Montreal.

She was standing only in 5 to 10 inches of water, but her water soaked dress became too heavy for her to get out. She asked the photographer for help. While they were trying, she lost her footing, and was swept away by a very swift current.

Water photos and wedding dresses are very common. They are most common with the Trash the Dress shoots. From this story, however, you can tell that if you are going to use a water theme in your shots, care must be given to the location. Obviously any body of water that has a steep incline from the shore, or currents of any kind, should be avoided at all costs.
