EDIT: We are now live and if you are landing here, please note that this is an old post, and the new Jimmy Drive website is now open for business. Head here for complete explanations and see if Jimmy Drive is right for you. http://jimmydrive.com/

We are well on our way to wrapping up Jimmy Drive. Since almost 180 of you have pre-registered to be a part of this PhotoTips milestone, I thought I would let you know where we stand.
We have just finished up confirming that the MAC version of the software works for the latest OS. Tonight, we begin to work through the Windows version and make sure everything is working great there.
The website is making serious progress as well, although if you head there now, you will not be able to see behind the curtain just yet.
Included on the website will be a video based tutorial system to show you how to get the most out of Jimmy Drive, and how to manage your files, backup schedule, and bandwidth.
Josh is also hard at work at creating a ticketing system in case the tutorials do not help, and you need a real person to walk you through.
Additionally, each member will get their own web portal to log on from anywhere and access their files. It will basically look like yourname.jimmydrive.com
That is where we sit now, and I will keep you updated as we get closer.
For those that have not heard of Jimmy Drive yet, please see below....

Imagine backing up the entire contents of your computer - PC or MAC - plus every connected portable and external drive that you may have attached, for only $6 a month. Imagine that same coverage allows you to access your backups from anywhere using the internet, and even our own smartphone or iPad apps. Imagine not only being able to download those files from anywhere in the world, but to also allow for streaming of media content that is backed up as well. Every single song and movie you have stored on your computer at home, would be available for streaming to anyplace around the globe provided your are connected to the internet with a broadband connection.
$6 for unlimited backup. Crazy, right?
AND.... For only $2 more a month, you can do the same thing with UP TO 3 COMPUTERS IN YOUR HOME ON OUR SPECIAL HOME ACCOUNT!!! Again, unlimited.
No one will be able to touch this. And why can we do this for so cheap? We are going to keep ourselves small by only offering it to PhotoTips family members. That means very little overhead for us, and we carry over the savings to you. We don't have a big office with employees that we have to feed. We spend nothing in advertising. I have no desire to go compete with Carbonite. We are quite content to be the small fish in a big pond. I would rather just pass on all of that savings to you.
And before you ask, we will be offering 256 bit encryption for your backups, and a 24 hour response time to technical issues via email.
Now we don't have everything ready just yet, but we will be going live in 2 weeks. Just fill out the form below. When we go live, you will be contacted to set up your account. There is no obligation, and we don't need your billing info just yet. Just pre-register, to be notified.
EVEN MORE! -- More info. We will have an add on package called a VSD or Virtual Sky Drive. It will be just like connecting a portable hard drive to your computer offering extra storage. Only it will be "in the cloud" and accessed from anywhere via the web and using 256bit encryption. A 512GB version will run $99 a year.
By comparison, A 512GB Google drive would cost you $600 a year and a 500GB DropBox account would cost you $500 a year. Even SmugMug's Vault program would cost you $712 a year. And we are going to offer it to you for $99??? Seriously? WHO LOVES YOU?!?!?!?!
