Nick Selway and CJ Kale have a crazy passion for Volcanos. They also love photography. And since they live in the volcano capital of the world, Hawaii, together they have created Lava Light Galleries. A fine art photography studio specializing in great shots of volcanos and lava.
Recently, one of those volcanos sent a river of lava headed to the ocean. This is not an active path, and it has been 7 years since this happened before. SO to make sure they got the shot, both guys camped out for 7 days waiting for the right moment. Then armed with swim fins and a camera, they jumped into the scalding surf to grab some great shots.
Below are a few shots from the trip, and a video they recorded documenting their adventure.
