Well there is nothing new from what we posted about a week ago, but it is now official, at least. Sony dropped their 5D3 and D800 competitor camera on the world today in the form of the new A99, at a street price of $2800. Right into the mix of the other full frame market share owning duo.
The A99 looks to be a serious performer with a full frame 24MP sensor sitting behind Sony's translucent mirror technology. A cool feature that removes the mirror flapping up and down in traditional DSLR camera. Without that moving part, the camera could potentially shoot faster than the rated 6fps that the Canon 5D3 matches, but we are talking about processing 14 bit RAW images at the same time, soooo....
