Now it's time for you to help with the clean up. Now it's time for you to do your part.
There are always government resources that help in disaster areas, but most of the work and relief to people is not accomplished with government. It is accomplished with volunteers on the ground doing something. That could mean bringing in food and water with a church group on a bus. It could mean contractors taking in their equipment on trucks to aid in clean up and repair. It could simply mean a shoulder to cry on.
If you can physically aid in someway, then you need to do so. Don't talk about it. Do it. Volunteer with an organization in your area to drive in and give some physical support to your fellow Americans. They need it right now. If you are not an American and cannot physically get here to lend a hand, then keep reading.
If you cannot physically go, then there is the lending of financial support to various relief organizations that you can do. Maybe your church is doing something. Give there. Maybe the church across town is doing something. Give there. Then there is always organizations like the Red Cross that have been doing relief work since before many of us were born. Give there. Give a dollar. Give ten. Give a thousand. Whatever. But don't sit there and do absolutely nothing. If everyone that listened to this show would only give a single dollar, the Red Cross would have over $100,000 by the end of today.
So do your part!
In fact here is the link to make a donation to the Red Cross.
Make a straight $10 instant donation that will be billed to your cell phone account by simply Texting ’REDCROSS’ to 90999 to make a $10 donation. $10 will be billed and $10 only that one time.
I am asking, that you prayerfully question what you and your family can do, gather your family around the dinner table tonight, make a commitment, and then put that plan in motion. You may not have a lot. But you have something. So give it.
Above all else, I believe in prayer. So for those that even remotely believe like I do, pray. Right now. Seriously. It does not require fancy words. It simply requires action.
And by the way, I did both of those things before writing this message. Now go and do what needs to be done.
