Recently, the Shuttle Endeavor embarked on it's last mission. It was not a mission to the heavens, but a mission that was a last farewell salute as it was ushered into retirement. It was flown across the US with a jet fighter escort. Then it was hauled through the streets of Los Angeles through throngs of smiling people trying to capture pictures. That move cost an estimated 10 million dollars with moving light poles and street signs in order to make way. It was hauled behind a Toyota Tundra as they used this event to show the towing capacity of their pickups. And it was funny to see something that was so minuscule in size, by comparison, hauling this icon of space exploration on a trailer that had 160 wheels.
Below are my top 5 favorite images grabbed from this event. Goodbye, Endeavor. Thank you for your service.
